    The problem with most start ups earlier was that they did not have a great platform to launch their products and services. With social media tools right now, it's hard to see them fail, especially if they have a cool product.

    This post is event more relevant given the financial meltdown that happened since. Capitalism got a bit sidetracked in the past decade or two. Rewarding the people who moved money around rather than the people who produced.

    The farmer should be making money from the corn he grows - not the hedge fund manager who shorted corn futures. What really went wrong was that the farmer ended up losing money because even he started to believe that he should join in on the financial-fest - that he will never make money through hard work.

    As entrepreneurs, we start off with the idea of building and producing (thats why many have an engineering background) and as above our challenge is to decide when we have produced enough to let the world take the next step. If you ask me what will fuel the recovery - its not the banks or the bailouts, its the start-ups of the world producing real value. The VC fueled exit mentality slowed us down a bit. Now thats over. Lets create things of lasting value. Like Microsoft, Apple, Google, YouTube.

    There are many companies with good ideas and enterprising start ups with killer aps. The one thing that is killing these companies are the fact that they might not know how to spread the word or marketing their products or services.

    Most young entrepreneurs always start up without much research and always do things on impulse. It always ended up in failures or losses. Although this might be good ironically, as it serves as a lesson learnt, mostly can't deal with the blow and determinations are shattered.This article really teach us to stop fantasizing and get things down to serious work.
