    Aren't there tons of Skype-based startups that do this already?

    @John D: I've seen a few, you're right, but none of them to my knowledge give you your own phone number. None of them are as cool and automated either. ;-) The Skype solutions are great for Internet-based folks (web consultants, etc.) who have clients who use it, but for the masses, Ether seems a much better option to me.
