Mobile is the future. As we move closer to the much-hyped era of cloud computing, everything will be online. Desktops will serve little purpose but as gateways to the internet that holds our data and the bulk of our interactions. Mobile, however, will still remain an important platform front in the face of a new generation of Web 2.0 applications.

Which is the Microsoft many-to-many ecosystem all over again, and look at how that's showing its age these days.
Meanwhile, the numbers show how Apple is gaining market share on the desktop. Why? A few reasons, really, not least the quality of their products.
But the main reason is that when an Apple product needs support, you just call Apple. And when you're looking at a product suitable for your needs, Apple will have maybe one or two models, not five, or six, or seven.
Sometimes too much choice is no choice at all.

The possibilities are endless. The current Atom CPU is quite limited but Intel and AMD will soon release their new mobile processors which will move everything forward again. Its pretty exciting.
